Audra McDonald is unparalleled in her range and the versatility of her talents as actor and singer. In 2015, she won record-breaking six Tony Awards as well as two Grammy Awards and Emmy Awards. She was also named in Time magazine among the 100 most influential people and was received an award called the National Medal of Arts - the highest award in America for excellence in art - from President Barack Obama. McDonald was first seen on TV as a dramatic actor on the Peabody Award winner CBS series Having Our Say - The Delany Sisters' First 100 Years. Her next appearance was that of a character actor in NBC's Law & Order Special Victims Unit where she starred alongside Kathy Bates and Victor Garber. McDonald's Emmy-nominated performance as Emma Thompson in Mike Nichols' HBO film adaptation of Pulitzer Prize winner Wit was produced by Mike Nichols. McDonald's return to network television began in 2003 in which she co-starred with Josh Brolin in Mister Sterling. The Bedford Diaries on the WB in the early part of 2006 as well as Kidnapped, NBC. McDonald received a nomination for a Fourth Emmy in the year 2016 for her performance in HBO's movie called Lady Day, at Emerson's Bar and Grill. The following year, McDonald starred in a telecast with Taylor Schilling and Steven Pasquale in the film The Bite, a pandemic drama that was co-produced between Spectrum Originals and CBS Studios. McDonald played U.S. prosecutor Liz Lawrence in the first episode of her role appeared in the CBS drama The Good Wife legal drama in 2009. The role was reprised in the year 2018, playing Season the regular Liz Reddick in Paramount+'s The Good Fight. In recognition of her role, McDonald received three Critics Choice Award nominations. The actress also appeared as a guest star in Julian Fellowes historical drama The Gilded Age.
