She also won numerous awards for her part in the movie 4 Months 3 Weeks 2 Days, a Romanian film that was highly praised by London Film Critics as being the top film of the year. She played a Romanian actress in Cristian Mungiu's documentary 4 luni3 two days (four months three weeks and 2 days) and was presented with the Palme d'Or and other prizes during the 2007 Cannes Film Festival. The film also featured her in the Francis Ford Coppola film Youth Without Youth. In 2008 she appeared as Yasim Anwar for the BBC Five-episode miniseries The Last Enemy. Marinca was a part of Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven and the Romanian drama Boogie. In the movie Fury (2014) her character played Irma she was a German woman, who is Emma's aunt.
