Liza Snyder

Snyder was born in Northampton, Massachusetts. The mother of her, who is a songwriter and singer has been her father. He is also a professor of theatre in Smith College. Johnny Green was a five-time Academy Award winning composer and Betty Furness, an actress and journalist for the consumer, are their maternal grandparents. Snyder earned her degree from the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York City, where she was a student of Sanford Meisner. Snyder began her acting career in television dramas such as The Trials of Rosie O'Neill or Murder, She Wrote. In 1993 she was cast in the lead role as Molly Whelan in the ABC and later syndicated crime series Sirens. She was a co-star in two television movies and appeared as guest in Chicago Hope and Pacific Blue following the cancellation of the show. She was also a regular on Jesse, the NBC comedy Jesse with Christina Applegate from 1998-2000. She made her big screen debut in a second character in the film Pay It Forward directed by Mimi Leder. The following year, Snyder began starring as Christine Hughes on the CBS sitcom Yes, Dear. The show ended in the year 2006. Snyder took a break of five years following Yes, Dear. She returned to TV in 2011 and was a guest on a role on an episode of House as the patient that needed the donation of a lung. She reprised Yes, Dear in an episode of Raising Hope from 2013.
