Cynthia Ann Crawford, born on 20th February 1966 was an American model, actress and TV host. Through the 1990s and the 1980s she was among the most popular supermodels , and an omnipresent presence on magazine covers and runways, as well as fashion advertisements. Then, she branched out into the business world and acting. Her sophomore year of high school, she received a call from a local apparel store about modeling opportunities. She later learned that the call was made as a prank from two of her students. Crawford was among the high school students hired by a different store, and also participated in a fashion shoot. Roger Legel, a local photographer, approached Crawford to shoot her. He was responsible for the photo shoot of another college student for DeKalb Nite Weekly. Crawford became the first cover. [9] She was encouraged to try modeling after the compliments and positive photos she received. She began with an agency of a smaller size. Elite Model Management bought it soon after she signed. At 17 years old, she took part in Elite's Look of the Year contest and advanced to the national finals.
